I grew up in South Devon and I am very proud of my Devonian roots, living in Torbay with my wife Carolyn and young daughter and 2 Beagles. I feel privileged to live in such a beautiful part of the world.
Prior to forming ‘Kings Tailored Financial Solutions‘ I enjoyed 32 years working in financial services for Natwest Bank. What started out being what I considered a temporary job in the late 80’s ended up being a permanent career.
My more recent roles within the bank were as a mortgage adviser and then latterly as a more ‘traditional family bank manager’ which involved me helping a portfolio of personal customers by using the financial services experience that I gained over my long career.
On leaving Natwest in 2021 I wanted to continue to help people using my vast financial services knowledge so formed ‘Kings Tailored Financial Solutions‘.
Some good advice I was given back in 2002 when appointed as a mortgage adviser by the head of Natwest mortgages “Darren, never forget that what you do is a very important milestone in that customers life, your advice can have a massive impact on them and their families financial future” those words of wisdom were never lost on me and I am very conscious of my responsibility to the customer.
